Kentucky Bluegrass Award 3-5 Category Winner
Smile! by Raina Telgemeier is a graphic novel that shares a story from the author's life. When she was just twelve years old, Telgemeier had an accident that caused her to lose her two front teeth! This book tells the story of the consequences Raina faced following this accident. Fans of graphic novels are sure to love Smile!

Pete the Cat: Rockin' in My School Shoes is Kentucky Bluegrass Award Winner!
We LOVE Pete the Cat at Pride Elementary School! I am happy to announce that Pete the Cat: Rockin' in My School Shoes won the K-2 Level Kentucky Bluegrass Award!

Gorillas in the Library!
Were you aware that our fifth grade students participate in Drama activities when they visit the library media center? We learn about and discuss Drama vocabulary as well as participate in games and other activities focusing on drama! Lately, we've been learning about Performance Elements and Improvisation. This week, Mrs. Wyatt's class filmed an improv piece about gorillas invading the library!

Fourth and fifth graders have been reviewing the Dewey Decimal System in the Library Media Center for the past two weeks. We use the DDS to organize nonfiction books in the library, making it much easier to find what we are looking for.

The votes are in and the winners for this year's Kentucky Bluegrass Awards have been announced.

Big Nate: in a Clas by Himself by Lincoln Peirce
Students across the state of Kentucky participated in the voting, meaning these were voted the favorite books of the year by other Kentucky students. The winning books from Pride were Interrupting Chicken by David Ezra Stein and Big Nate: in a Class by Himself.
